Find out all the answers to my most frequently asked questions (FAQs) about a permanent makeup brow procedure so you can feel calm, confident and excited for your appointment🤍

What is the age requirement for Microblading or Permanent Makeup Brows?

Strictly 18 years and over

Will it hurt?

I use high-quality numbing cream to keep you comfortable. Most clients describe the feeling as light scratching, not pain. I also check in with you throughout the session to check your comfort.  Most often than not clients fall asleep during the procedure or find it relaxing overall.

What if I have sensitive skin?

My electronically powered digital semi permanent makeup machine device alongside the appropriate single use sterile needle cartridge is the most suitable method to implant pigment into the brow area at the right depth for all skin types including sensitive without causing unnecessary trauma to the skin.

Additionally, I use high-quality, EU REACH compliant pigment lines which ensures safety and minimises risk of adhere reaction to pigment.   Reactions are extremely rare, but we can perform a patch test if you’d like at your in-person consultation appointment.

Do I need time off work?

No not at all. Your brows will be beautifully enhanced just expect them to look slightly darker, bolder until they heal..

Will my brows look natural?

Absolutely. My goal is to enhance your natural brows so they have a beautiful shape, definition and symmetry. The final result is soft, balanced, and flattering.

What if I don’t like the shape or colour?

It’s very unlikely you’ll feel this way after the procecure, as I take every measure to ensure you’re completely happy before any treatment begins.

During your pre-procedure consultation, we’ll chat in detail about your perfect brow shape, the most suitable pigment colour, and the different brow effects available with semi-permanent makeup. This isn’t a rushed process, it’s an opportunity for me to really understand the look you want and how it will suit your features.

I start by mapping your brows based on your bone structure and facial shape. If you’re not completely happy, I’ll adjust the design until you are. I take photos of your natural brows and the mapped outline, then show you colour options that complement your skin tone and blend beautifully with your existing brow hairs.

You’ll also see digital examples of different brow styles such as hair stroke, tint effect, or a combination of both to help you visualise how each one can enhance your look. Once we’ve agreed on your ideal design, a Treatment Plan is created. This usually stays the same on the day of your procedure, but if you change your mind, we can always review it together before starting.

On the treatment day, I’ll re-map and outline your brows to match the agreed shape. Once you’re happy, the shape is locked in with a surgical marker so there’s no variation during treatment — just beautifully enhanced brows, exactly as planned.

Will my brows look dark?

Yes, they will look bolder during the first few days. This is normal. As they heal, and the pigment suspends in the skin they will soften and lighten by about 30–40%. * Your initial procedure includes a complementary touch up which is taken 4-6 weeks post treatment.  This is the perfecting appointment where the eyebrows can be tweaked and enhanced with more colour as required.

What should I expect my brows to look like during the healing process?

You can expect to see your brows go through varying changes during the healing phase which takes 30 days to fully complete.  Initially the brows will appear darker. As the skin heals some flaking may be experienced, this is normal.  8 days post treatment the brows will appear much lighter.  The essential aftercare must be followed during this time.  You must wipe them clean twice a day and keep them dry and only use on them the balm provided in your aftercare kit. Only after 30- 40 days post treatment is when you see the true healed results.  You’ll receive clear aftercare instructions about what is expected of you how to best look after your brows post treatment for best healed results.  The aftercare instructions is also emailed to you so you can refer to it when you need or if you’re unsure about anything you can contact me anytime.  You can also send me pictures of your brows as they’re healing. *Remember semi permanent makeup is a two phase procedure.  The touch up appointment is scheduled in the diary approx. 4-6 weeks later post treatment as it’s required to perfect finishing touches on the brows and complete the procedure.

Will my brows heal unevenly?

It’s normal for permanent makeup (PMU) brows to heal unevenly at first. During the healing process, some areas may appear lighter or fade faster than others. This is usually temporary, and in most cases the pigment evens out after the skin fully heals.

Usually if the Microblading method is used the brows may flake or scab more noticeably, sometimes leading to uneven fading whereas with my preferred method to implant pigment into the skin using my nano brows digital machine and fine needle cartridge with quality hybrid pigments means the pigment is implanted more precisely into the skin allowing for even more precise, thin strokes and shading and therefore heals more evenly with less risk of patchiness.  *The touch up appointments are necessary so I can check how the pigment has healed in your skin and make the necessary adjustments as required to ensure your brows look balanced and symmetrical.

Will the sun fade my permanent makeup brows?

Sun worshippers will need to protect their brows against UV damage particularly if an organic pigment was used in the procedure.  Organic pigments whilst usually good for longevity will however, fade when exposed to UV which can lead to uneven looking eyebrows overtime.  I like to work with hybrid pigments which is a combination of organic and inorganic pigments. *In this case regular touch ups are required if you do not follow the recommended aftercare advise.

How long will my brow results last?

The results of permanent makeup (PMU) or microblading typically last between 1 to 4 years, with colour gradually becoming lighter after 12–18 months. This is why annual touch-ups are recommended to maintain the vibrancy and shape of your brows.  Without regular touch ups the pigment in the skin generally fades over 2–4 years after microblading and 3–4 years after standard semi-permanent makeup.

*I mainly work with a nano digital machine and premium hybrid pigment lines, which combine the stability of inorganic pigments with the vibrancy of organic pigments. This combination helps resist fading, allowing many of my clients to extend their touch-up appointments to 18–36 months. However, if you feel you might wish to change the look of your brows further down the line e.g. go from Ombre brows back to hairstrokes effect then a semi permanent colour pigment from my fade collection will be the better option for you as these pigments are formulated to fade away after a year. For long-lasting results however, a hybrid pigment is usually the preferred option. These choices, along with colour selection, are thoroughly discussed during your consultation.

How should I look after my Permanent Makeup (PMU) brows?

You will be given clear instructions post treatment how to look after your brows. You must only use the treatment balm provided in your aftercare pack during the critical healing phase which is the first 10 days post treatment. In the unlikely event scabbing occurs you must not pick your brows. Once your brows have fully healed avoid using active skincare such as retinols, AHAs etc on your eyebrows and always protect them against harsh UV rays to ensure your brow results longevity.

What is the difference between Microblading and Nano Brows?

“Microblading is done with a blade and a handheld manual device. Nano brows, my preferred method is done with a digital machine with an ultra fine needle for a softer, more precise, and longer-lasting result.

Is semi permanent makeup safe?

Yes it’s completely safe because it’s a sterile procedure performed in a sterile environment and only disposable (single use) needles and blades are used.   I only use high-quality, EU REACH compliant pigment lines which ensures safety and minimises risk of adverse reaction to pigment.  I’m also licensed and insured and certified as a fully-qualified technician to competently perform permanent makeup procedures.

Can I have it done if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

Strictly no as liability insurance does not cover such cases. *Click here to find out more about contraindications to treatment

Can you fix old microblading or brow tattoos?

Possibly! I’ll evaluate the colour and shape to see if correction is suitable. Photos or an in-person consultation help determine the best approach.

Is there anything I need to avoid pre treatment?

The pre care is discussed with you in detail during consultation.  This information is also emailed to you to help best prepare for your treatment.  *1 day before the treatment and on the treatment day we recommend to avoid alcohol and coffee

How soon can I resume swimming/gym activity after the procedure?

It is imperative that you adhere to the recommended aftercare provided.  *You must not get your eyebrows wet during the critical healing phase which is up to 10 days post treatment. Only passive exercise is permitted during this time. After this time your normal activities can resume.
